Guest Lecture by Dr .C. Naga Raju, Head Of CSE and Dean,YVU Engineering College of Yogi Vemana University
The lecture began with an inaugural session where the resource person was welcomed and felicitated. Dr. Naga Raju introduced the fundamentals of IoT, explaining how interconnected devices use sensors, microcontrollers, internet connectivity, and cloud platforms to build intelligent systems. He also outlined the basic IoT architecture layers from sensing to application.
Real-life applications were discussed in detail, including smart homes, smart agriculture, healthcare monitoring, smart cities, and industrial IoT, highlighting their benefits such as energy efficiency, improved productivity, better healthcare access, and optimized resource usage.
The speaker also emphasized essential skills and career paths in IoT, covering areas like embedded systems, programming, networking, cloud platforms, data analytics, and cybersecurity, along with roles such as IoT Engineer and Embedded Systems Developer.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students actively discussed learning paths, tools, projects, and job prospects. Overall, the guest lecture was informative and motivating, successfully bridging theory with practical applications and encouraging students to explore IoT-based projects and careers.
